What Michael Jackson Means to You
Love him or hate him, the highly-eccentric King of Pop was – and forever will be – an unforgettable icon of global pop culture. That’s an amazing thing to consider, when you think about the kinds of news that really impacts the world on any given day. I almost forgot about China’s latest Internet faux pas (I won’t even get into my gripes about the Google blackout *grrr!*) when I saw the headlines about the King of Pop having a heart attack.

It’s a tragedy, but there are going to be a lot of opportunities for wholesale and retail outlets to supply the millions of grieving fans and faithful supporters with the memorabilia that they demand. There’s going to be a gold rush of activity on the Internet over this, and you should be on the forefront of wholesalers and retailers who are wisely investing a little time to research the hot leads that are pointing them towards sources of great Michael Jackson goods. Start with my recent article to get a running start, and be sure to browse Top Ten Wholesale.com,Manufacturer.com,and Off Price Network.com sites to continue your hunt for everything your buyers need.
While you’re at it, I would advise you to consider the other famed pop icons of the past, since the immediate wave of nostalgia for Michael Jackson will undoubtedly prompt buyers to rekindle their interest in all the other collectibles out there!

What Michael Jackson Means to Me,
As a Buyer of 9 years in the Global Marketplace, I must honestly say that there comes a time when you choose what you will seize upon in order to turn a profit for any Business.
People who die should never ever be used as a cheap, easy tool to literally steal money from the many fans who want a piece of their Idol as a Collector’s Item, or due to the fact that for reasons I do not understand, Fans of any Celebrity who dies in today’s world, want some sort of Trinket related to the person who passed, just to say, I remember when………… God know’s there are far too many people in business who will seize upon these facts just to make a quick buck.
I did not know Michael Jackson. I knew his music. His reputation will forever remain questionable to millions of people, Worldwide. I refuse to be a hypocrit. I refuse to profit from a man who found it necessary to become a recluse at a very young age, and as he grew older, to the point of ridiculous, passing his own personal fears onto his innocent children, making them wear a form of what is equivalent to a Burkha to hide their tiny faces, whenever they went anywhere. This may be acceptable in some Countries, however, it is considerred to be an unacceptable act & method of parenting, to put upon any child, born and raised in the USA. The affects of growing up in this unnatural way, will have far reaching affects, none of them good… which will show in his Children as they grow into adulthood. I hope with all my heart that the Guardian of Jackson’s Children, will seek out the best Child Physchiatrist that money can buy to undo the damage that being forced to hide their beautiful faces & everything that makes every child precious, fm the Public, even at the dam Zoo, which is every child’s Playground, and Jackson’s Children will want to know why their faces were hidden & they were not permitted to be like ‘normal children’ like all the children they saw, whose Parents would never dream of forcing them to hide their smiles, laughter, everything that allows their children… to be children! I hope that the Guardian will have the stones it takes to rid those children of the unnatural face covers Jackson had made for them, and ceremoniously put them into Jackson’s Coffin, never to be worn or seen again. This should be done ceremoniously at the Funeral, making the children feel free at last, which is what their Father would have wanted for them. Jackson was hiding the ravages of too much Plastic Surgery done out of vanity, which caused him to hide his face fm the Public. His children were born beautiful, w/o Plastic Surgery, making the msg Jackson put upon them by covering their beautiful little faces, was that, their faces must be just as hideous as what their Dad’s face was, so they had to be hidden behind a piece of cloth, whenever they were in public view, including the Zoo, where no other children were wearing anything to cover their faces. This damage Jackson has done to them, must be undone ASAP with the help of a child physchologist. It will take a lot of love, years of therapy to undo the far reaching damage that Jackson’s clueless method of Parenting requires to undo the damage that is akin to brainwashing in my personal opinion.
Michael Jackson’s death, mean’t nothing to me. I worry for his children as it will take a very strong Guardian to do what’s right for them, no matter how much pressure fm family members is put upon them. Someone, like me, who has a fierce Mothering Instinct & the ability to shut out the noise of others around them, and who vows to always put the good of Jackson’s childhood deprived children first, above all else! If they know they are unable to do this, they need to find someone who is! The Host whom gave Safe Haven to Jackson in the Middle East when he was literally run out of the USA as more ppl in the US believed him to be a pedophile, irregardless of the results in Court. Jackson took full advantage of the generousity of his Host, and fled like a rat back to the USA, when his Host requested the Millions of Dollars Jackson spent from his Host’s Bank Acct w/o permission to the shock of his Host when he was approached about this matter. Jackson seemed to think that the World owed him something, which he had already been obscenely over-paid for. Jackson’s many oddities, made him anything but a good role model for any child! I will never buy anything Jackson-related to profit from in my Shoppe. I refuse to be a hypocrit, sadly when it comes to a profitable fad, too many Buyers will check their moral compass at the door & do anything for the almighty dollar. I refuse.
L. in Canada
Hey L in Canada! While I think many share in your sentiment, MJ was a public figure. Historically, there are many events ( Pearl Harbor to Martin Luther King Day) where we celebrate both the life and death of someone. MJ truly did have millions of ( eccentric) fans who want nothing more to do now than celebrate his life with memorabilia, gifts, novelties and other little two cent meaningless party poppers that bring smiles to the faces of those who….enjoyed. In a capitalist society, business has the duty, right and obligation to fulfill a consumer demand. After 9/11, we had a renewed since of Patriotism that brought record sales of flags and other patriotic novelties. That has sense faded…..But, businesses had to fill the demand and yes, with demand comes profit and with profit comes survival. To deny a consumer goods when there is demand for a legitimate product goes against the fabric lining of our most basic business principles and would, in the long run, cause our economy to hurt even further. Unfortunately, business does not have much emotion and the show must go on…
That said, I 100% empathize and AGREE with a lot of what you say. However, to deny yourself an opportunity based upon a personal feeling is not a move I could justify anytime soon. I do a lot of things I don’t necessarily like all day, but at the end, I know it’s for the good of all and my actions as an executive must always reflect that.
Wow… I was away on a short trip to XiTang, and returned to find this.
L. in Canada, I can understand the feelings you express… I would be upset if every news outlet in the world was abuzz with news of a loved one’s death, in an effort to cash in on it… but that is a price we pay for celebrity status, whether we like it or not. I could only dream of the world wanting to buy some ‘Rueben memorabilia’ when I am gone… but I am grateful that you read my article while I’m still around!
I’m also glad you posted your feelings, because you have every right to tell everyone what’s on your mind. I agree with most of what you said too, but you and I both also know that countries sell weapons and ammunition to each other every day. I’ll take some ‘MJ gear’ over that any time.
