Liquidation Expo 2009 Long Beach Convention Center with TopTenWholesale.com

Ah yes, the real first day of the trade show: Getting set up! There is nothing more important than spending an ample amount of time during set up to make sure you’re ready for opening day. As you can see from this video, the show floor is what appears to be a complete mess. Yes, pallets and forklifts galore. Dirty carpets and torn up boxes. Ripped jeans and baggy t-shirts…It’s a dirty business. By tomorrow morning, it will sparkle. Believe it or not, it’s actually fairly organized due to GES Exposition Services and help from the show staff. I am now anxiously anticipating the inaugural opening day of the Liquidation Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center. It was assuring to see some familiar face exhibitors like: Via Trading , Concord Enterprises , Four Seasons and Kole Imports.

ASD has been very busy promoting this key closeout industry trade show. As a media partner, we have done our fair share and feel confident the expo will deliver a solid turnout of closeout buyers and those just seeking a deal. Read here to see my tips on having a great show:

I have a few tips I’d like to offer to both buyers and sellers while setting up / attending a trade show……
1) Take your time. Don’t rush setting up and don’t rush down the aisles passing by valuable merchandise deals.
2) Bring plenty of business cards. You never know who you might meet and it’s also rather unprofessional not to be prepared.
3) Stand out! Advertise your booth. Have banners. He who speaks loudly gets herd the most.
4) Hire model to pass out bags , fliers and samples…Why? Do you really have to ask…..
5) Get the email address and contact information of everyone stopping by your booth.
6) Have a show deal made up in advance of the show.
7) Don’t sit down in your booth and wait for them to come to you. This is your time to be aggressive.
8) Run a trade show special that ONLY can be had at the show
9) Look professional. Don’t sit in your booth with a twisted ball cap.
10) Sell! Sell! Sell!

Good luck to all of you exhibiting this week at the Liquidation Expo and most of all….

Happy Wholesaling!
